Freiburg Hackathon: Smart & Digital Health (Online)
With the coronavirus pandemic running rampant around the world, the question of smart and digital health has become one of extreme importance. That is why the Freiburg Hackathon has this year decided to focus on this very topic.
The Freiburg Hackathon usually consists of teams that work together to find a digital solution to a problem. Last year, the focus was on challenges in the retail, craft and tourism sectors. This year, due to coronavirus restrictions, the hackathon will take place virtually.
What can you expect at the Freiburg Hackathon?
The hackathon will focus on the topic of smart and digital health and answer questions that deal with improving the efficiency and productivity of digital health. Some of these questions include:
- Which digital tools can doctors use to simplify and accelerate their processes?
- How can the “customer journey” be improved from the initial admission of the patients in the hospital to their discharge or recovery?
- What options are there to digitally network the various players in the healthcare industry, such as health insurance companies, social welfare services, clinics and patients?
Digital programme of the Freiburg Hackathon 2020
The Hackathon will begin on Friday, May 22 with a presentation of the possible challenges and the composition of teams. Over the weekend, these teams will work together to come up with a solution. These teams will be provided with digital tools and services for easy collaboration, and will have access to expert mentors and a top-class jury.
The three teams that come up with the best prototypes will each receive a cash price of 1.000 euros. The winners will be announced on May 25, and they will also have the opportunity to further develop their prototypes in the BadenCampus start-up lab.
