Enjoy this eleven-day-long festival of Franco-German cooperation at the French Weeks in the city of Stuttgart this March. The unique festival, which has been going on since 1999, provides a platform for celebrating French artists, institutions and associations and further highlighting diversity and cultural exchange between Germany and France.

Devoted this year to "Faster, higher, stronger - together"

With this year's theme being "Faster, higher, stronger - together", the focus of the festival will be on the subject areas of sports and how it can overcome boundaries. This theme allows us to look ahead and celebrate the special sports events happening in both France and Germany in the coming months.

Germany is hosting the European Football Championships in June, 2024 and France is hosting the Summer Olympics in Paris. This serves as the inspiration to encourage fair, peaceful and respectful coexistence, and enables friendly encounters.

The event will be a moment to reflect on the role and future of France-Germany relations in the European framework, through understanding themes that strengthen the cohesion between the two countries.

Interesting events for all Francophiles

Opening with Le Tir Sacré, the duet by French choreographer Marine Colard plays with the musicality of sports commentary by exploring the relationship between the athlete's performance and journalistic commentary. The sisters Katia and Marielle Labèque will perform in a concert with the SWR Symphony Orchestra, followed by a discussion about the life of a musician.

Works of art from the Würth Collection will be on display in the Sports & Games exhibition, where different athletic and leisurely activities are pictured in 20th-century artistic formulations. The final event of the French Weeks is a concert by celebrated bandoneon player Louise Jallu.

There will also be workshops, readings, panel discussions, hands-on courses, as well as more concerts and exhibitions. To make the programme more special, there are various impressive guests such as former amateur boxing world champion Aya Cissoko and Tour de France commentator Hajo Seppelt.
