DOK.fest @home: International Documentary Film Festival Munich
Documentary films are so often overshadowed by other flashy, attention-grabbing movies - but at DOK.fest München they take centre stage. The International Documentary Film Festival, held annually in Munich, aims to maximise the exposure of documentary films around the world.
What to expect at DOK.fest 2022
DOK.fest Munich is known as the largest documentary film festival in Germany, showcasing a total of 124 films from 55 countries. The ongoing global situation meant that the festival's 37th edition proved to be something of a challenge, but the festival committee rose to it admirably and moved the entire festival programme online.
This year, in-person events are back, with a hybrid festival format allowing the public to participate both in person and from home.
DOK.fest 2022's programme
DOK.fest 2022 kicks off on May 4 with an opening ceremony featuring the moving film NAWALNY.
After that, the festival will proceed as usual, with its entire programme of films available for viewing online and in cinemas as well.
