The Jewish Film Festival
The Jewish Film Festival Berlin & Brandenburg (JFBB) aims to act as a window into the diversity of Jewish life around the world. Taking place across Berlin and Brandenburg, the festival shines a light on an array of socially relevant events, topics and cultural themes by sharing unique insights into the world of Judaism and Jewry through film.
Highlighting the best of Jewish films
Founded in 1995, the Jewish Film Festival Berlin & Brandenburg is one of the oldest of its type in Europe. A unique culturally-focused event in Germany, it acts as a showcase for new and established cinema that explores Jewish life in Germany and around the world.
For two weeks a year, Jewish filmmakers from across the globe come together to present an assorted programme of films that take the viewers on a trip into their realm. Each year, the JFBB features some of the greatest and latest Jewish productions from a number of different countries, with several of them making their German or European premiere.
26th edition of JFBB
As the Jewish Film Festival Berlin & Brandenburg has set itself the task of highlighting the latest and most interesting contributions of Jewish filmmakers to Berlin during its 26th edition this year, most of the films and discussions are in English. Films made in their original language will have English and sometimes German subtitles.
At the same time, the JFBB also features different perspectives, not often seen in the daily stream of headlines and broadcast news. The film screenings provide a lively forum for dialogue and debate about a wide range of issues, drawing large audiences every year.
