The Sounds of Things (Klang der Dinge) is the meeting place for all lovers of experimental music and musical object theatre. Taking place from September 5 to September 8 in Schaubude in Berlin, theatre artists and musicians will show overlaps and points of contact in their work with objects.

The Festival for Experimental Music and Object Theatre

The Sound of Festivals aims to celebrate the unstable, the moment, the existential trivialities in life through sound. For four days, theatre artists and free-improvising musicians stage a number of performances using objects, to highlight unforeseen connections in their work.

Expect to see everything from singing vegetables, to sounding machines and homemade instruments. In addition, several artists will also host workshops which delve into their own work and encourage participants to find their own ways to create new techniques for making sounds.

Open to All

Created by Alpha Angelina Kartsaki, Felix Koch and Schaubude Berlin, this festival aims to explore sound in a new, experimental way. In order to ensure the festival is also accessible to all, on Saturday, a special introductory course with tactile guidance and live descriptions for the visually impaired will also take place. This includes the "Pocket Show", "En éclats", the Vegetable Orchestra concert and the installation by Rie Nakajima.
