Join us at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in our newest European hub for Chase bank, located in the heart of Berlin. As we embark on this exciting chapter of growth and expansion, we are seeking a passionate Localisation Specialist to help localise our app and other digital assets from English into German.
The goal of our Localisation team is to provide an outstanding local experience to our customers in Germany. Quality is very important to us, and we believe in the value of human translations while making the best use of technology.
As a Localisation Specialist in a collaborative localisation team, you will work closely with our other Localisation Specialist for German. We use Crowdin as our translation management system, and you will mainly work on product-related content, such as app strings and communication assets.
Experience in localising apps and a good understanding of product development would be a significant advantage in this role.
Job responsibilities
- Translate, transcreate and proofread content from English into German
- Build and maintain German glossaries and translation memories to ensure consistency
- Adapt the global tone of voice to the German market
- Collaborate with various stakeholders such as UX Writers, Product Managers, and Engineers to understand the product and localisation requirements
- Conduct quality assurance checks and report bugs
- Advocate for the customer and foster a customer-first approach within the organization
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in roles such as Localisation Specialist, Translator, Linguist or Language Quality Manager
- Excellent communication skills in German and English, both written and oral
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
- Good knowledge of translation management systems (TMS) such as Crowdin
- Attention to detail and critical thinking
- Develops and sustains effective and cooperative working relationships with peers and stakeholders
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Experience using Jira and Confluence to organize and document work
- Technical understanding of product development
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience of banking, FinTech, or similar areas is a plus
