Finance Manager (m/f/d)

A major Japanese manufacturer’s B2B division is seeking a Finance Manager (m/f/d) for its office located near Frankfurt. The role manages all finance-related operations in close cooperation with the headquarters in Japan, while working closely with two accounting members in the local entity. The Finance Manager will take ownership of both hands-on operations and team leadership.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage multiple functions across accounting, finance, and tax
• Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements
• Oversee IFRS reporting to Japan headquarters
• Take responsibility for financial statements prepared under German GAAP
• Ensure compliance with J-SOX requirements
• Oversee cash management, budgeting, and cash flow control
• Consolidate P&L and balance sheets for relevant international legal entities
• Negotiate and manage banking relationships, including credit lines and treasury agreements
• Ensure tax compliance and support audits
• Participate in internal projects and process improvements
• Advise executives and senior management on finance-related matters
• Lead the team to ensure employee satisfaction, qualification, development, and performance management
• Manage Planning/Finance functions (P&L management and control, financial analysis), Reporting, and supervise the Accounting team (approx. two members)
• Occasional business travel as required (to Japan HQ or global finance counterparts)

Job Requirements

• Business-level Japanese and English; German language skills preferred
• Relevant university degree with a functional focus in finance or accounting
• Over 3 years of relevant managerial experience in an international company
• Strong knowledge of accounting topics, including consolidation, IFRS, and cash flow statements
• Proficiency with ERP and financial systems (SAP strongly preferred), as well as Excel and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of corporate tax, international taxation, and transfer pricing
