About this role

Role: CRM Data Analyst You work in CRM Targeting & Analytics, the team that decides which customers Zalando engages and measures the incremental value those interactions create. We sit within CRM and partner closely with Customer Lifecycle Management to reach customers across 24+ markets through email, push, in app and the notification centre. Our ambition is to move from reactive campaigning, where CRM responds to stakeholder requests, towards proactive and eventually autonomous decision making: the right message, through the right channel, with the right offer, at the right time, while protecting the customer relationship. Strong analytics is what makes that shift possible. As a CRM Data Analyst, you own the analytics for a set of lifecycle campaigns. You build the targeting logic, set up and evaluate experiments, and measure what those campaigns actually changed. You will work with holdout based incrementality rather than last click attribution. If that is new to you, this is a strong environment to learn how to apply it properly in practice. Responsibilities: - Own targeting and segmentation for your lifecycle campaigns. Build and maintain customer selection logic within our targeting framework, and work with data engineers and marketing automation colleagues to make sure it runs reliably across email, push, in app and the notification centre. - Design and evaluate experiments on targeting, offers and channel strategy using our experimentation platform and testing standards. Get the fundamentals right: clean variant assignment, sufficient sample sizes, disciplined test execution and clear interpretation, including when results are inconclusive. - Measure what your campaigns actually delivered. Produce incrementality reads using global and campaign level holdouts, understand how the metrics are constructed, and turn the results into clear recommendations for the stakeholders running those campaigns. - Build and improve the reporting CRM relies on. Develop dashboards, recurring performance views and the underlying queries, and take ownership of the quality of what you publish. Your work should be documented, reproducible and reconciled against source data. - Share what you learn. Document your work so others can build on it, contribute to knowledge sharing across the team, support new joiners, and take part in interviews alongside the hiring manager. Qualifications: - 3+ years of experience using data to support business decisions, with a solid grounding in inferential statistics and A/B testing. Exposure to causal inference or holdout based measurement is a plus, and you will have the opportunity to deepen that expertise here. - A strong quantitative degree, for example in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or Computer Science, gives you a good foundation for the role. - Strong SQL and practical Python skills. You are comfortable working with large datasets and either have experience in a modern cloud data environment, such as Databricks, data lakes, Airflow and Git, or are motivated to build that experience quickly. - Hands on dashboarding experience with Tableau, MicroStrategy, Looker or similar tools, combined with a strong focus on data quality. You validate your work, understand where your numbers come from, and make sure what you publish can be trusted. - An interest in CRM, lifecycle marketing or customer analytics. Experience with marketing automation platforms such as Braze, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Adobe is useful, but not required. - Clear communication skills. You can explain analytical findings to non analysts, separate evidence from interpretation, and say when the data does not support the conclusion someone expected. - A proactive and pragmatic way of working. You learn quickly, solve problems independently, collaborate well with others, and are comfortable working in English in an international environment. What We Offer: - 27 days of holiday a year to start for full-time employees (+1 day for every calendar year up to 30 days) - 40% off fashion and beauty products sold and shipped by Zalando, 30% off Lounge by Zalando, discounts from external partners - Family support, including counselling and dedicated services for parents and carers - Company pension scheme - Employee shares programme - Health and wellbeing options, including Wellhub - Mental health support and coaching - Development through our training platform and biannual peer-to-peer review - 2 paid volunteering days a year - Relocation assistance (subject to prior agreement)
