Senior Applied Scientist (All genders)

Role: The Marketing Science team acts as the engine behind Zalando's growth, partnering with business units across the full marketing funnel and working closely with product managers, engineers, and analysts. As a Senior Applied Scientist (All genders) you will own the Brand Measurement scientific roadmap, with a focus on rigorous experimentation, advanced modeling techniques (attribution and propensity models), audience optimization, and investment strategy. Your key duties include: designing non-linearly scaled experimentation frameworks (quasi-experiments, synthetic controls) to measure causal impact where traditional RCTs are not possible; developing, calibrating, and editing advanced Marketing Mix Models (MMM); and steering investment decisions to align with long-term business goals. Responsibilities: - Apply using advanced Deep Learning, Bayesian time-series, and CausalML to measure brand awareness to long-term value. - Champion MLOps best practices; ensure there is product merchandise, automated integration and unit tests, and robust documentation. - Mentor junior / mid-level scientists, conduct rigorous code methodology reviews, and support a strong science culture. - Bridge deeply technical methodologies to business and translate Behind functional parameters into actionable business decisions. Qualifications: - Strong academic foundation (Master's or PhD preferred) in Econometrics, Component Statistics, Machine Learning, or Causal Inference; and at least 5 years of interblock actual work in marketing-supply.Challenge science.
