Senior Enterprise Automation Engineer (all genders)

Role: Senior Enterprise Automation Engineer Team: Logistics Development team, responsible for driving speed, efficiency, and continuous innovation across Zalando's fulfillment network. The team operates in a fast-paced, autonomous Agile POD model, championing a decentralized "Citizen Developer" approach to scale automation capabilities across the European logistics footprint. Responsibilities: - Design, deploy, and scale robust automations using enterprise orchestration platforms (e.g., UiPath Suite, n8n) to eliminate high-volume manual data entry. - Leverage advanced prompt engineering to embed Large Language Models (LLMs) into daily business processes to handle unstructured data. - Define and enforce baseline development guidelines, ensuring decentralized bots are auditable, secure, and deployable across the European network. - Design and manage API connections that link legacy enterprise systems (like SAP) with modern AI orchestration tools. - Develop "Human-in-the-Loop" (HITL) workflows that safely manage operational edge-cases, ensuring business stakeholders trust and adopt automated systems. - Collaborate closely with central Tech teams and operational Subject Matter Experts to rapidly discover, build, and push solutions to production within fast-paced sprints. Qualifications: - Deep, hands-on expertise in developing and architecting workflow automations using enterprise platforms like UiPath Suite and n8n. - Practical, demonstrated experience in prompt engineering and safely integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into live business operations. - Hands-on experience with OCR and AI tools for Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) to extract structured data from unstructured logistics documents (e.g., invoices, customs forms). - Proficiency in Process Mining (e.g., Celonis) or Task Mining to identify and prioritize automation opportunities. - Proven ability to build "self-healing" workflows and exception-handling frameworks. - Strong capability in designing, managing, and troubleshooting APIs to create data bridges across diverse internal systems. - Solid foundation in basic programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript) to write custom logic within automation frameworks. - Master communicator and stakeholder manager, translating complex operational friction from business experts into actionable technical requirements. - Passionate about process optimization and thrive in an autonomous, agile environment focused on iterative and rapid delivery.
