Senior Software Engineer - ZEOS Partner Foundation (all genders)

Role: As a Senior Software Engineer at ZEOS, Zalando’s B2B Logistics unit, you will design technical solutions that connect e‑commerce platforms with ZEOS’s logistics ecosystem, ensuring operational processes such as warehousing, inventory management, distribution, deliveries and returns are seamlessly steered across platforms. Responsibilities: - Work collaboratively to apply appropriate software and engineering design approaches and methodologies. - Design, develop, deploy, operate and improve software solutions that impact daily business with partners. - Discuss and design APIs and integrated solutions. - Own code within a micro‑services architecture, selecting technologies and tools to deliver and operate large‑scale applications on AWS. - Operate in an agile, startup‑like environment, taking ownership of the full development cycle from architecture design to testing, implementation and maintenance. - Write applications from scratch using modern technologies of your choice. - Champion an inclusive culture and diverse team environment. Qualifications: - 7+ years of software engineering experience. - Deep understanding of micro‑service architecture, REST services and API design. - Strong knowledge of security concepts. - Expert Java development skills, with experience in Spring Boot. - Experience with distributed event stores such as Apache Kafka. - Familiarity with frontend technologies (JavaScript/ES6, React, TypeScript, Webpack, CSS/HTML) and interest in full‑stack development. - Good understanding of PostgreSQL and cloud platforms, preferably AWS. - Demonstrated ownership, entrepreneurial and analytical thinking, with excellent communication skills. - Experience integrating third‑party services or middleware solutions; e‑commerce experience (e.g., Shopify) is a plus.
