COMPANY OVERVIE

This company is a comprehensive power tool manufacturer originating from Japan, highly regarded worldwide, with a particularly strong presence in the European market. Since its international expansion began in 1970, it has grown into a global brand with business locations in approximately 50 countries. Around 80% of its products are manufactured overseas, and it has established manufacturing, sales, and service hubs across Europe, including Germany.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIE

As the Technical Lead of the IT Department at the Germany office, you will lead the IT transformation across Europe, collaborating with project managers based in Southern Germany, the headquarters in Japan, and offices in Eastern Europe.

The European IT division is currently undergoing a major infrastructure overhaul to support front-end systems (customer service, claims processing, webinars, project management) deployed across 32 countries. A migration project is underway to transition from a customized IBM ERP system to Business Central and SAP Hana, with implementation planned in 15 countries.

Key Responsibilities:

ERP Implementation Project Management

  • Planning and executing ERP rollouts in 15 countries

  • Task management, documentation, and project launch support

  • Supporting implementation of SAP S4/HANA and Business Central

Team Management

  • Collaborating with the German team (3 expatriates + 1 local staff) and IT members across Europe

  • Coordinating with representatives in Finland (web content) and Belgium (business processes)

Infrastructure & Security

  • Ensuring GDPR compliance and resolving security issues

  • Integrating existing systems and improving infrastructure

Vendor Coordination

  • Managing contracts and progress with external vendors

  • Defining and reviewing technical requirements

Internal Collaboration

  • Working closely with the IT department at the Japan headquarters

  • Cooperating with the European IT transformation project team

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory Qualifications (All must be met):

  • University degree in Information Technology, Business, or equivalent practical experience

  • Knowledge or understanding of network security, infrastructure, EDI, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, product management systems, ERP, databases, and integration technologies

  • Ability to plan and execute projects aligned with business goals (budgeting, resource planning, scheduling, vendor management, risk assessment and mitigation)

  • Strong communication, assertiveness, analytical thinking, and conflict resolution skills

  • Excellent communication skills in English

  • Business-level Japanese proficiency (required for communication with Japan HQ); German is not required but a plus

  • Willingness to travel within Europe (10–20%)

  • Salary: Up to €120,000 (includes 13-month salary with winter and summer bonuses)

Mon–Thu: 8:00–16:30

Fri: 8:00–14:00
