As a Trade & Working Capital Team Manager – Associate in the Trade & Working Capital team, you will oversee trade finance operations and lead a team of specialists. You will ensure accurate regulatory reporting, resolve complex client inquiries, and support the professional development of your team. Your leadership will drive process improvements and maintain high standards of compliance and client satisfaction.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage a team of trade finance professionals to achieve high performance.
  • Oversee the review, processing, and administration of guarantees, SBLCs, and letters of credit.
  • Perform regulatory reporting and ensure timely, accurate submissions.
  • Resolve complex client inquiries related to trade finance transactions.
  • Support collaboration with front office, back office, and stakeholders for seamless operations.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies, procedures, and standards within the team.
  • Maintain up-to-date procedures and documentation for operational accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve complex customer requirements with effective solutions.
  • Support training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Implement process improvements to drive greater efficiency.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives to advance business strategy and objectives.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proficiency in German and English (spoken and written).
  • In-depth understanding of trade finance operations, current market practices, UCP600, ISP98, German Federal Code/Law, and regulatory issues.
  • Strong experience in trade finance processing.
  • Demonstrated team leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain a network of contacts locally and internationally.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight schedules in a high-risk environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • CDCS qualified.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team culture.
