This Master thesis offers an exceptional opportunity to dive deep into the fascinating world of microfluidics and contribute directly to the development of a novel microfluidic chip for Digital Polymerase Chain Reaction (dPCR). Join our interdisciplinary team and help shape the future of medical diagnostics.

  • As part of your Master thesis, you will actively participate in the development and optimization of a microfluidic chip designed specifically for digital PCR requirements.
  • You will immerse yourself in a broad spectrum of state-of-the-art techniques and gain hands-on experience with microfluidic, biochemical and genetic methodologies, building a comprehensive skill set.
  • Furthermore, you will conduct thorough literature reviews and experimentally validate scientific hypotheses, including the use of patient samples.
  • Last but not least, as a member of our highly innovative team, you will regularly document your work, evaluate experimental results, engage in stimulating discussions and present your findings in order to contribute to the collective knowledge of the project and its progression.

Your profile

  • Education: Master studies in the field of Engineering, Natural Sciences or comparable, preferably Technical Biology, Medical Technology, Chemistry or Microsystems
  • Experience and Knowledge: practical experience in molecular biology and microscopy; a very good general understanding of physical processes, especially in chemistry and microfluidics an advantage
  • Personality and Working Practice: you are an independent, goal-oriented individual with a structured approach to work; you are open to experimentation and motivated to solve problems in creative and innovative ways
  • Enthusiasm: for interdisciplinary scientific work
  • Languages: business fluent in English and good in German
