Senior Applied Scientist (All genders)

Role: Senior Applied Scientist in the Marketing Science team at Zalando. Responsibilities: - Own the entire machine learning lifecycle within project scope, from research to scaling and monitoring. - Partner with engineering teams to transition modeling POCs into production systems. - Foster cross-team knowledge sharing and establish best practices in ML and MLOps. - Act as a strategic technical partner for product and commercial stakeholders. Qualifications: - Strong academic foundation (PhD preferred) in Econometrics, Statistics, Machine Learning, or Optimization. - Proven experience in optimization techniques (portfolio, marketing, or pricing). - Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark. - Track record of architecting data science frameworks in high-ambiguity environments. - Experience mentoring mid-to-junior data scientists.
