German App-Award 2026: What are Germany's favourite Apps?

The German Institute for Service-Quality (DISQ) and the news outlet ntv have surveyed 23.000 consumers to make their ranking for the annual German App-Award. In a final analysis of 344 apps across 48 categories, they have released their top picks for users.
Germany's favourite apps
The ranking revealed that in the sector of finance and insurance services, the providers C24 Bank, ING and Targobank stood out for their quality in banking. For tax matters consumers turn to Check 24, WISO Steuer and Zasta, while Barmenia, MeinCosmosDirekt and Meine SI Mobile scored high on insurance services.
For Fitness and Health, the fasting app Bodyfast, the community app Adidas Running and the online pharmacy Aponeo achieved the highest ranking in their respective categories.
The services by the ARD Audiothek, the app by the German public broadcasting service, is most popular for online audiobooks and podcasts. This year the dating app Badoo outranked Tinder in Germany's favorite dating sites.
Consumers recommend the grocery delivery services of Mytime and Picnic, as well as the food delivery services of Lieferando and Restablo. Aldi Nord is currently the grocery store with the best app in Germany.
The popular apps Kleinanzeigen and Vinted also made the ranking for private marketplace apps, while Check 24 reappeared in the category of price comparison providers.
Other apps mentioned were Jetcost for finding the best flight prices, Indeed and Stepstone for the job market and Immoscout 24 and Immowelt to find housing in Germany.
How does the ranking work?
The German App-Award 2026 are based on results from an online panel, commissioned by ntv and conducted by the DISQ. Consumers above 16-years-old, who made use of the app in question in the last 12 months gave their assessment between July 31 and August 21, 2025.
40 percent of the general verdict consists of the apps relationship between their offerings and provided services. User friendliness affected the ranking by 30 percent, customer service experiences by 20 percent and whether users would recommend the app to others by 10 percent.
