Description:
This 83-sq meter, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment is on the ground floor of a freshly-refurbished turn-of-the-century building on Greifswalder Straße, which straddles Winsviertel and Bötzowviertel, two of Prenzlauer Berg's most popular neighbourhoods. Both bedrooms of the apartment have large double beds. One bathroom has a bathtub (there is also a washer/dryer in the same bathroom) and the other a shower stall. The kitchen is fully equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and branded cutlery, crockery and cooking vessels (Zwilling, Friesland, WMF, etc.). Plus there's designer furniture (Peter Maly, Philippe Starck, H. W. Klein, Enzo Berti) and a small gallery's worth of original art. Fresh bed linen and towels are provided, and there is free Wi-Fi along with (large-screen) cable TV.Close to the house, within meters, and on both sides of Greifswalder Straße, there are organic food/wine stores, supermarkets, bakeries, bars, restaurants, cafes, book shops, pharmacies, hair salons and art galleries. Berlin's third largest green space, Volkspark Friedrichshain (with its many monuments, open-air cinema, swan pond, playgrounds, tennis courts, cafes, restaurants, skating and jogging areas), is literally within spitting distance. Everything from the Central Station to the Museum Island, the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate and other important historical monuments can be reached within minutes by public transport. Alexanderplatz is one or two tram stops away depending on which of the two stops (Hufelandstraße and Am Friedrichshain) one boards the tram at (the house is in the middle). Kollwitzplatz, with its iconic (Berlin's oldest) water tower (Wasserturm) and an almost bewildering array of cafes, restaurants and bars, is 6-7 minutes' walk away. Berlin Hauptbahnhof is 20-odd minutes by tram and S-Bahn. In case one prefers taxis, there is a stand right outside the building.
Despite being so close to the heart of Berlin, the apartment is extraordinarily quiet.
