In pictures: The GDT Nature Photographer of the Year 2020

May 3, 2020

The German Society for Nature Photography (GDT) has chosen a winner to receive its Nature Photographer of the Year 2020 award, and this year's picture selection is exactly the corona remedy we've been looking for.

The best nature pictures of 2020

The GDT has bestowed its coveted Nature Photographer of the Year award on Peter Lindel. His photo, “A hare’s dream”, which captures a European Hare in a meadow in North Dortmund, was selected by a three-person jury as the winner of the “mammals” category, and Peter the overall winner of Nature Photographer of the Year 2020.

The jury, tasked with selecting the winner of the prestigious award, also selected a winning picture from seven different categories: Birds, Mammals, Other Animals, Plants and Fungi, Landscapes, Nature’s Studio and a special category: Water. The jury also selected their favourite photo to win the “Prize of the Jury” award.

The images are spectacular.
