Kids Footwear Designer (all genders)

Role: Kids Footwear Designer – part of Zalando’s Design area, responsible for shaping product assortments for kids footwear across our brands. Responsibilities: - Collection Building & Trend Ownership: drive the kids’ footwear collection in close alignment with the Design Lead, Buying, Planning and the Sourcing Office, translating trend research and customer insights into commercial collections. - Kids’ Footwear Design Expertise: apply deep commercial acumen, customer insights and technical knowledge of fit requirements and production processes. - End‑to‑End Process & Sustainability Ownership: own the full design process, champion AI tools and sustainability innovations, optimise workflows and resolve operational challenges. - Team Collaboration & Effectiveness: foster a high‑performing, collaborative team culture, provide constructive feedback and maintain a positive working environment. Qualifications: - 7+ years of specialised experience in kids footwear design, preferably with commercial e‑commerce brands; mandatory portfolio showcasing boys and girls footwear. - Highly creative with strong commercial sense and attention to detail. - Team player with a can‑do attitude, curiosity and openness to innovation. - Excellent communication and organisational skills; ability to present concepts to leadership. - Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and AI tools. - Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment managing multiple projects. - Strong interest and understanding of sustainability, diversity and inclusion.
