Senior Product Designer - Loyalty (all genders)

Role: We are looking for a Senior (Principal) Product Designer for the Loyalty Design Team in Berlin. The role leads the overall Plus experience, drives design vision, and mentors two other designers while contributing as an individual contributor. Responsibilities: - Define the North Star vision and strategic UX/visual direction for Zalando’s loyalty ecosystem. - Lead design of complex, gamified systems (missions, tiers) and ensure seamless integration across the journey. - Collaborate with product managers, engineers, brand and commercial stakeholders to align business strategy with customer‑centric experiences. - Conduct design experiments, A/B testing and use product analytics to validate concepts. - Champion and evolve Zalando’s design system, visual principles, motion and interaction standards. - Mentor and raise the quality bar for fellow designers, share best practices and lead design critiques. - Drive cross‑functional alignment and act as a strategic partner across product, engineering and brand teams. Qualifications: - Proven track record of delivering visually rich, customer‑facing digital products. - Strong UX/UI foundation with expertise in visual storytelling, typography, layout and motion. - Experience with design experiments, concept design methods and user research. - Ability to conduct A/B tests and interpret product analytics. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills; comfortable influencing engineers, product managers and executives. - Passion for inclusive and accessible design. - Leadership mindset with a focus on mentoring and elevating other designers.
