Teacher Librarian for our International Primary School

For our Primary School in Dreieich (near Frankfurt) we are looking for a motivated and qualified Teacher Librarian (in part-time or full-time).


  • Promote and manage an existing library that acts as a 21st century learning center for the school and supports teaching and learning
  • Support the development and implementation of a library policy that reflects the educational objectives of the school, as well as regular monitoring of these
  • Contribute to programs for students to develop a culture of reading, literacy, research skills and critical thinking
  • Arranging materials for effective retrieval including the systematic indexing, classification and cataloguing of all library resources
  • The dissemination of information relating to those resources to staff and students as appropriate
  • Training staff and students in the use of library resources and IT as an effective tool for information retrieval 
  • Contribute to curriculum development through attendance at management team, faculty and departmental meetings and collaborative planning meetings with teachers 
  • Selection, acquisition, organisation, promotion and maintenance of book and non-book resources to cover the full age and ability range of the school community, and to ensure an equality of opportunity for all students and staff


  • Desirable experience in the administration of a library or as a teacher librarian
  • Enjoy working with children of all school classes
  • Very good knowledge of English and first knowledge of German
  • Very good organizational and communication skills to work with students, teachers, parents and the entire school community
  • Interest in developing and implementing new pedagogical concepts, strong commitment and team spirit
  • Openness to modern technology and fresh ideas
