Field of activity

As a Risk Analyst in Default Management, you are responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of the technical and operational infrastructure required to perform the default management activities of the clearing house during a potential clearing member default. This work requires that you have a deep understanding of the product space offered by Eurex Clearing AG, the risk methodology as well as IT implementation. This enables you to function as a kledge centre for answering internal and external questions related to risk model and systems and support the Default Traders in preparing or executing all necessary process steps. You will define and perform systems analysis / testing and provide documentation to improve the workflow and operating efficiency within a multi asset trading environment including derivatives, cash market and OTC products. As part of your tasks you will provide recommendations to standardise processes and to introduce or improve on technology. You coordinate your activities with other systems and teams (e.g., Clearing and Trading) to ensure a robust and stable environment.

Tasks/responsibilities

  • Support Eurex Clearing AG’s trading activities during a potential liquidation procedure
  • Support development and maintenance of key DMP IT solutions like hedging, position management or auction tools
  • Ensure tool readiness across the team in order to facilitate smooth and efficient processes
  • Review requirement specification documents and develop acceptance test cases based on a sound understanding of the requirements
  • Execute test cases, and document results including defects and potential enhancements to the methodology
  • Support queries from internal and external stakeholders with respect to liquidation procedures, risk model and affiliated systems
  • Support planning activities (tasks, work estimates, timelines, and resources)
  • Participate in strategic projects of Deutsche Börse Group

Qualifications/required skills

  • B.Sc. in a quantitative discipline (Econometrics, Mathematics, Physics, Financial Engineering, Computer Science or any other comparable degree with risk management focus including empirical, quantitative analysis and methods)
  • Capital markets experience with exchange traded derivatives (option/futures) and OTC (Swaps) as well as an understanding of related market data
  • SQL database and Python or other programming language experience to handle database analysis requests and process data
  • Quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in order to act as an interface to other project teams and IT
  • High commitment and motivation, take on responsibility, creativity and the ability to work independently as well as the ability to work flexibly in a team environment
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English; additional German language skills will be an asset
  • Excellent command of MS office, including MS Access, Excel and VBA experience
  • Experience in Python or other programming language would be a plus
