We are looking for a

Senior Editor, Practical Law Germany (f/m/d)

based in Frankfurt.

Thomson Reuters Practical Law is an online legal intelligence service designed to meet the needs of the busy legal practitioner. Our leading legal k-how goes beyond primary law and traditional legal research and provides standard documents, checklists, legal updates, how-to guides, and more – created and continuously maintained by our expert attorney-editors.

The role is part of the continued investment in and development of Thomson Reuters EU member state legal content. The role holder will be required to write and review new content for our online legal k-how services, maintain existing content ensuring that all content is of the quality and scope that meets business objectives and the needs of customers.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Researching, writing and delivering well-written, up-to-date content for online publication that reflects current market legal practice
  • Ensuring that you keep up to date with law and market developments and that the content for which you are responsible is also maintained
  • Responding to questions from customers about our published content and international/EU member state legal practice
  • Developing relationships with third parties with a view to obtaining contributions of content or insights to improve content
  • Supporting marketing and sales and other parts of the business to ensure delivery of business objectives
  • Attending training events, conferences and talk

Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience in practice as a legal professional in Germany is mandatory
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English are mandatory
  • Experience of working in an in-house legal department or law firm in one or more of the following areas: Corporate law, Finance law, Commercial law, Financial services regulation
  • Substantial experience with the application of German law
  • Excellent kledge of legal research databases
  • Experience in producing well-written practical legal content efficiently of a nature that will be relevant for publication and/or teaching
  • Experience in using technology to create and disseminate online content
  • Experience in assimilating and applying new and complex information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent attention to detail

Education Required:

  • German law graduate (Bachelor/Master of Laws or Lawyer with state examination)
