Job Description In your new role as Hub Buyer (m/f/d) you will support the deployment and operation of the hub & spoke purchasing infrastructure in Germany interacting with Global Procurement, and German locations, and constantly collaborating with location stakeholders to achieve a world-class purchasing model

Main Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate review and approval of submitted PRs (purchase requests) and conversion to POs (purchase orders) for products/services for locations in Germany (mainly Hamburg oilseeds plant), ensuring compliance with global company procurement policies
  • Preparation and execution of (price-) negotiations with local and regional suppliers; make buying decisions
  • Understanding critical items and services, and developing and implementing strategies to mitigate supply risks
  • Partnering with PR creators across Germany to provide on-time, robust communication and collaboration with global procurement and local stakeholders
  • Assisting in developing KPI’s to track Procure-to-Pay metrics to drive continuous improvement in these areas
  • Establishing long term supplier relationships
  • Submission of Supplier Incident Report forms for all issues related to delivery, quality, price etc.
  • Identifying and presenting opportunities for cost reduction; reporting cost savings; initiating e-auctions
  • Clarifying discrepancies between POs and invoices
  • Working in the following main systems: Maximo (for approval of POs), Coupa (for competitive bidding)

Your Profile

  • Master’s/Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or equivalent or several years of purchasing experience, preferably in technical purchasing in food industry
  • Experience in negotiating with suppliers and delivering cost savings
  • Self-driven team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills (collaboration across regions and functions, co-operation with external partners and suppliers)
  • Understanding of Procure-to-Pay process, purchasing intelligence, able to set up priorities and manage aggressive assignments
  • Fluent English and German
  • General kledge of software applications (Excel, Word, Power Point), kledge of ERP systems (Maximo is preferred, however kledge in JD Edwards (procurement module) or SAP is also a plus)
