Databricks AI/BI Engineer (all genders)

Role: Software Engineer specializing in AI/BI and Data Products. Responsibilities: - Build Metric Views and develop interactive Databricks Dashboards. - Support the reliability, quality, and performance of Data Products. - Assist in building and maintaining scalable ELT pipelines using Databricks Delta Live Tables. - Learn and apply Data Governance and security standards using Databricks Unity Catalog. - Perform technical and root cause analysis to troubleshoot data quality issues. - Collaborate with engineering teams and the Zalando Data Foundation. - Document work and contribute to a collaborative data culture. Qualifications: - Define and maintain metric views and business logic for governed KPIs. - Build and maintain Genie Spaces. - Foundational experience with Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, Metric Views, Workflows, Dashboards). - Proficiency in Python and exposure to Apache Spark (PySpark). - Understanding of Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold). - Ability to translate business requirements into clean tabular models. - Foundational knowledge of Git, Docker, CI/CD, or Infrastructure as Code. - Working understanding of AWS and REST APIs. - Strong problem-solving skills and good English communication.
