Full-Stack/Frontend Software Engineer (all genders)

Role: Full-Stack/Frontend Software Engineer (all genders) Team: Our team in the Zalando Payments Risk Management department is dedicated to building sophisticated fraud detection and prevention tooling that optimize workflows for our customers, while feeding high-quality data back to our machine learning models. Responsibilities: - Product engineer across modern frontends, delivering accessible, internationalized, form-heavy React experiences using TypeScript, MUI, React Hook Form/Zod, and Vite. - Turn user and customer feedback into usable workflows with clear validation, resilient error states, and discoverable data interactions. - Work with various stakeholders to understand business context, support implementation of solutions, and measure against success criteria. - Deliver secure, compliant solutions by designing and implementing orchestration processes and workflows, adhering to non-functional requirements and regulatory constraints like GDPR or DORA. - Act as a proactive team player by spearheading documentation and knowledge sharing, fostering continuous improvement and best-in-class usability. - Take ownership of the full software lifecycle, utilizing AI and automation to streamline workflows and improve code health, and identify opportunities to integrate with broader internal systems. Qualifications: - 3+ years of experience designing frontend systems using React and TypeScript, writing well-structured, observable, maintainable code covered by automated tests. - Clear communication with product managers and engineering peers to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity. - Customer-centric approach and pragmatism, taking ownership of solutions to deliver tangible business value. - Proactive, self-driven mindset with passion for continuous learning and improving workflows. - Support team growth through constructive code reviews and knowledge sharing. Nice to Have: - Experience with Vite, Zod, or complex state management libraries, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems. - Background in highly regulated environments like fintech or risk-management software. - Track record of spearheading documentation initiatives.
