We develop technological innovations, digital products and forward-looking artificial intelligent solutions exclusively for Mercedes-Benz. We are setting new standards in the field of car manufacturing as well as the digitalization of quality control.

We develop machine learning models, implement the latest AI technologies and are the architects of the quality gate platform for our entire business unit. You will be responsible for the development and deployment of few-shot and zero-shot deep learning techniques for multiple computer vision tasks, driving innovation within our company with artificial intelligence and integrate them into existing systems and processes.
For this role, there should be a strong understanding of the fundamentals and principles of artificial intelligence and machine learning. In addition, you should have experience with programming languages and frameworks such as Python, PyTorch.
As an intern in deep machine learning and computer vision, you can expect the following exciting tasks:
- Collaborate on quality inspection algorithms in challenging applications for factory environments
- Investigate potential of foundation models for industrial quality inspection
- Investigate XAI algorithms for Vision Language models
- Evaluate semi and unsupervised learning in high-accuracy computer vision applications
- Use our synthetic dataset framework for fully-synthetic training of computer vision applications
- Assess the impact of dataset features on learning of multiple AI models
The activity can begin from May 2026.
Qualifications
Ideally, you should bring the following with you:
- Degree in computer science, software development, or other relevant fields, ideally with a focus on artificial intelligence
- Proficient in Python programming language and Jupyter Notebook
- Knowledge and experience in training and developing AI projects using PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Knowledge or experience in computer vision techniques and applications
- Hands-on attitude to prototype hardware demonstrators for proof-of-concept models
- Enthusiasm for the latest developments in the field of deep learning – experience with foundation models is an advantage
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken is an advantage
