What You’ll Build
In this role as (Associate) Developer s (f/m/d) your tasks will be:
- Penetration testing for SAP products and solutions including third party software
- Security review of development activities & artefacts
- Participate in penetration test lab activities, evaluation, customization and development of test tools for SAP products and frameworks
- Coordination / leading of relevant security validation projects for development programs
- Being responsible for release recommendation / security validation reports
- In-time and high-quality delivery of security validation services
- Strong interest in the continuous improvement of security validation processes and hacker tools
What You’ll Bring
Required skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, natural science or a related discipline
- Fluent German and English language skills - verbal and written
- Knowledge of typical security vulnerabilities like XSS, SQL injection, directory traversal, buffer overflow
- System and network administration and development skills
- Project management skills
- Analytical thinking / problem solving skills
- Good communication, networking and presentation skills
- High interest in interaction with our customers (both internal and external)
Preferred skills
- Knowledge of current web and cloud technologies will be an additional advantage
- Candidate should have practical experience on application security testing and penetration testing
- Experience with common hacking tools (open source and commercial), manual testing, and security code reviews (including security patches)
- Knowledge of CWE, OWASP and similar security standards
This is an entry-level position for upcoming or recent graduates with 0-2 years work experience. Relevant experience in software security related topics and software testing would be highly beneficial.

As part of the board area Products & Innovation and the central SAP Global Security team, the Security Validation team provides central services and infrastructure supporting the SAP Secure Software Development Lifecycle.
Security Validation performs independent security assessments on our software via a risk based approach from a customer’s point of view (= acting as first customer), using state-of-the-art standard and custom tools and methods.
Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
