About this role
Role: Principal Data Analyst (all genders) - Logistics Key Account Management
The Logistics Key Account Management (KAM) Team acts as the strategic interface between Logistics Operations and our internal customers, namely Markets and Propositions. Our mission is to enable high-quality and reliable Logistics services so our customers can be successful within their competitive environments. We ensure a high-quality feedback loop, manage performance and KPIs in the interest of the account, and act as strategic advisors. In this Principal Analyst role, you will be the analytical thought leader, bridging the gap between commercial goals and logistics realities, and empowering data-driven decision-making across the matrix.
Responsibilities:
- Thought Leadership & Strategic Analytics: Act as the principal analytical authority for the KAM team. You will manage highly complex projects over a long time horizon and build an analytical edge in the logistics and propositions domain.
- Complex Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Facilitate the identification of root causes for operational challenges and potential customer friction.
- Data-Driven Performance Steering: Lead the definition of targets for "outcome" KPIs. You will challenge operational performance, establish scalable review procedures, and drive the adoption of standards and mechanisms for continuous improvement.
- Capability Advisory & Roadmap Facilitation: Act as a strategic partner to Markets, Propositions, and Logistics by mapping out data-driven service needs. You will support the discovery of new services, assess their impact, and work alongside the Capabilities pillar.
Qualifications:
- Extensive professional experience as a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or in a similar highly analytical role, ideally within e-commerce, retail, or logistics.
- Advanced technical skills in statistics, data modeling, SQL/Python, and scientific research methodologies, capable of translating complex data sets into easily digestible insights and actionable decision proposals.
- Strategic thinker with excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of bridging the gap between Markets/Propositions, Logistics Operations, and the Logistics Capabilities pillar.
- Comfortable acting as a consultant and sparring partner, challenging the status quo, and holding teams accountable for operational KPIs without running the end-to-end operations yourself.
What We Offer:
- 27 days of holiday a year to start for full-time employees (+1 day for every calendar year up to 30 days)
- 40% off fashion and beauty products sold and shipped by Zalando, 30% off Lounge by Zalando, discounts from external partners
