SAP Retail / MM Team Lead (All genders)

Role: As the Team Lead SAP MM & IS‑Retail, you will lead a team of functional consultants to keep Zalando’s supply chain core running flawlessly, bridging high‑volume e‑commerce demands with robust SAP architecture and driving strategy for Materials Management, IS‑Retail, Inventory Management and Material Valuation. Responsibilities: - People Leadership: mentor, coach and develop SAP functional consultants, fostering continuous learning and high performance. - Inventory & Valuation Ownership: design and optimise complex inventory processes, split valuations and integrations with Warehouse Management Systems. - SAP Architecture & Strategy: lead the roadmap for SAP MM and IS‑Retail, ensuring configurations handle peak traffic. - Cross‑Functional Collaboration: partner with Finance, Logistics and Product teams to translate business needs into scalable SAP solutions. - Agile Delivery: manage team backlogs, prioritise sprints and ensure high‑quality configurations and documentation. - Strategic Stakeholder Management: act as primary bridge between tech and business units, aligning expectations and road‑maps. - Translating Business into Tech: convert e‑commerce requirements into robust SAP solutions. - Escalation Management: handle system disruptions with root‑cause analysis and recovery plans. Qualifications: - Proven leadership experience guiding a team of SAP professionals in an agile environment. - Deep functional knowledge of SAP MM (Purchasing, Inventory Management, Physical Inventory) and SAP IS‑Retail (Article Master, Merchandise Categories, Listing). - Strong expertise in Material Valuation and its integration with SAP FI/CO. - Experience with large‑scale e‑commerce or high‑volume data environments. - Tech‑forward mindset, preferably with SAP S/4HANA and cloud/API integration experience. - Excellent English communication skills, able to explain complex SAP architecture to non‑technical stakeholders.
