What you’ll build

Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) in SAP S/4HANA empowers companies to easily create feasible and optimized production plans and procurement proposals. PP/DS performs finite capacity planning, which means it considers real‑world limitations and constraints, such as available machinery capacity or raw materials.

To accelerate the improvement and modernization of our solution, we are establishing a new development team in Walldorf following the Harmonized Product Operating Model.

As a developer, you will participate in all phases of application development.

  • Contribute to the design, development and maintenance of PP/DS in SAP S/4HANA
  • Collaborate with architects, product managers, and team members to translate business and technology requirements into solutions
  • Ensure code quality, scalability, and performance through best practices and code reviews
  • Leverage agile software engineering and cloud mindset to ensure we can deliver high‑quality software continuously
  • Develop your own concepts and designs together with product management, UX designers and architects
  • Support the team by taking over additional technical or organizational tasks

What you bring

Required Skills

  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Solid programming skills in at least one language like ABAP, JAVA, C++, or similar (3 - 5+ years in this role)
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and test automation
  • Analytical thinking, problem‑solving attitude, and good communication skills
  • Growth mindset: eagerness to learn ABAP, RAP and HANA/CDS; proactive and accountable
  • Interest in technology and eagerness to learn and apply new skills
  • Language: English (fluent), German language skills are a bonus

Preferred Skills

  • Hands‑on expertise: ABAP, RAP, CDS, OData, Fiori/UI5
  • Familiarity with supply chain management concepts, IBP, APO or similar products
  • Experience with development principles for cloud products
  • Experience with AI tools

Our organization is responsible for the development and enhancement of Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) within SAP S/4HANA. You will join a dynamic new scrum team which will contribute to the success of SAP’s solutions around Supply Chain Planning.
