We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineering & Quality Manager to join our Large Power Systems team to support Caterpillar large engine production at our Kiel facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead a team supporting operations, manufacturing and quality processes, tooling and tool design, and equipment needed to successfully and economically produce assigned parts/products in accordanced with engineering specifications.
  • Oversee manufacturing engineering and quality teams and developing/training the personnel that perform and support the plant operating functions.
  • Lead tool design, assembly, manufacturing processing, cost estimating, systems planning, layout, standards, and releasing.
  • Support the development of quality assurance strategies, processes, guidelines, and control plans which ensure quality and reliability of manufactured products.
  • Lead the development and implementation of corrective action and preventive measures to achieve quality targets.
  • Investigate and address trends with internal and external non-conformance.
  • Drive improvements based on data analysis and review reports with quality assurance, production, management, and engineering teams to solve quality-related issues.
  • Manage development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives.
  • Lead the installation of new machines and equipment and process changes to provide the most efficient and economical manufacture or assembly of quality parts.
  • Provide the technical expertise necessary to design all aspects of production assembly, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing.
  • Oversee the administration and continual improvement of quality management systems.

What You Have (Key Skills/Experience Required):

  • Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
  • Manufacturing Processes: Understanding of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
  • Manufacturing Safety: Familiarity with manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
  • Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Strong awareness of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
  • Quality Management System (QMS): Expertise in Quality Management System's (QMS) functions, features, and capabilities; ability to design, implement, test, and maintain Quality Management Systems to consistently meet customer requirements and regulatory compliances.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Strong command of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Analytical Thinking: Solid grasp of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Very good German (at least C1) and very good English skills (at least B2).

Additional Information:

We are back! This role requires being in the office five days a week.

A valid work permit or EU-25/EFTA citizenship is required for this position.
