Caterpillar Inc. is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, off-highway diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager Manufacturing Operations to join our Large Power Systems team to support Caterpillar large engine production at our Kiel facility.
What You Will Do:
- Build, lead and engage a Manufacturing Operations organization to establish a world-class manufacturing facility.
- Direct all aspects of manufacturing operations for the facility in order to produce cost-effective, timely and high-quality products in a safe and secure working environment.
- Manage development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives.
- Direct development of production work schedules to meet internal goals and customer expectations; monitoring process and employee performance of scheduled work activities to achieve established operating goals.
- Oversee programs and practices for hiring, performance management and developing/training employees that perform and support the facility operations.
- Maintain and build positive employee relations and an inspiring work environment.
What You Have (Key Skills/Experience Required):
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in manufacturing operations
- Strong understanding of manufacturing safety practices and requirements
- Proven expertise in relevant standards, procedures, and policies governing manufacturing environments
- Quality management

- Proficiency both in English and in German (spoken and written)
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):
- Engineering or technical degree combined with extensive experience in the field
- Previous Experience of Manufacturing Large Engines
