Promotion | Impact of AI- & AAS-Driven approaches within engineering & operation of fluid factory (f/m/d)
About this role
Your tasks
As a PhD (f/m/div.), you are leading research in the Top Management Project of Next Gen Fluid System design and development through innovating a Data and AI driven development, tailoring, testing and operation in fluid factories. Therefore you identify, based on real application needs, the potential and weaknesses in current multi-criteria fluid system design, development & operation processes in order to optimize speed and massively reduce efforts (e.g. drawings, programming, bill of material, maintenance). Your tasks will include creating and implementing a solid Software and AI based Architecture foundation on a real fluid factory, focusing on possibilities and limitations of AAS and AI, corresponding software and data architecture, to solve identified industrial pain points. You hereby set the foundation for design, tailoring and successful installation of the first hydraulic learning factory worldwide (fully funded). Furthermore you will be part of university and industrial driven research projects (e.g. Fluid-AI) to support and win future international fluid university projects in all phases. The final Ph.D. topic is subject to the supervising university (already multiple options defined).
Your profile
- Education: above-average completion of master’s/diploma studies in engineering, data science or a comparable qualification
- Experience and Knowledge: mechanical Engineering & Fluid-/System-Knowledge; Experience in AI & Data Science and Research (e.g. AAS, AI), Work experience (e.g. Hydraulic Branches), Scientific Knowledge Transfer Background a plus
- Personality and Working Practice: Quick comprehension, high quality standards and initiative, open to international cooperation, committed, innovative, conceptual
