Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar’s company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.

Your responsibilities as part of our team:

  • Accountable for the development, communication, and implementation of a worldwide sourcing strategy for a Drivetrain components category.
  • Identifying performance gaps within the supply base and developing improvement plans for the identified gaps based on the QCLDM expectations.
  • Collaborating with the regional Supply Network and global peer procurement teams on risk mitigation and using predictive cost modeling both geographic and component based.
  • Identifying, developing, and managing a high-performing global supply network for one or more categories leveraging Procurement Classification Codes (PCC)

Your profile – what you should bring:

  • Successfully completed degree in business, engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant professional experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan
  • Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of Audit and Compliance (A&C) function
  • Willingness to travel 20% - 30%
  • Fluent German and business-level English skills, both written and spoken (minimum level B2/C1)
