A florist from Berlin has been crowned world champion in his field at an international competition held in England.

Berlin florist crowned world champion arranger

54-year-old Berliner Nicolaus Peters has been named World Champion Florist. According to Berliner Zeitung, at the competition in Manchester, the florist was praised by judges for his “impressive creativity, technical craft and his passion for artistic floristry”.

Peters said that he felt honoured to have represented Germany on the international stage and was pleased that his work could move people from all over the world. The second German to have ever won the international title, Peters was awarded prize money of 17.500 euros for his talents.

Peters works out of his Schöneberg flat

Berliners eager to get their hands on Peters’ award-winning flowers will have to set up an appointment - the florist doesn’t have a shop but keeps business running out of his workshop-cum-flat in the Schöneberg district.

Anyone who wants to book a bouquet has to first contact Peters via his website, where you can also find pictures of his arrangements and more whimsical designs.
