Chocolate bunnies will be 25 percent more expensive this Easter than they were in 2025, despite the fact that raw cocoa prices have fallen.
Chocolate Easter bunnies more expensive in 2026
Chocolate bunny season is finally here, but you’ll have to dig deeper into those pockets to bite off an ear. According to the Consumer Association (Verbraucherzentrale) in Hamburg, in 2026, chocolate Easter bunnies are 25 percent more expensive than in 2025 and 100 percent more expensive than in 2020.
This year, a 90-gramme Milka bunny is 22,3 percent more expensive than in 2025, and a 100-gramme Lindt gold bunny is 16,3 percent more expensive. A 50-gramme bunny from Aldi, however, costs the same as it did last year.
Hase-n’t the price of chocolate fallen?
These price rises are despite the fact that the main ingredient of chocolate Easter bunnies, raw cocoa, has actually gotten cheaper. In March 2026, raw cocoa was 76,7 percent less expensive than it was in March 2025.
If you’re stuck on whether to buy a “discounter supermarket” bunny from Aldi or Lidl, a mid-range DM bunny or splash big on a Lindt coney, it’s worth shopping around and considering all your options this year.
