Spring is the season of new beginnings - why not make it the start of your tech career in Germany? The tech and data job market is booming, and 2025 promises even more growth. But in today’s competitive landscape, continuous learning is the key to staying ahead.

Discover the right DataScientest course for you!

How to land a tech job in Germany

Germany’s tech industry is going from strength to strength, and companies are looking for skilled professionals like you. But with so many applicants, how do you make sure your profile stands out? Follow these key steps to boost your chances:

  • Look beyond LinkedIn: Platforms like Stack Overflow, AngelList and Kaggle list exclusive tech job openings you won’t find elsewhere.
  • Network with the right people: Many of the best jobs aren’t even posted online. Attend tech meetups, hackathons and industry conferences to connect directly with decision-makers.
  • Target high-growth companies: Start-ups and scale-ups hire faster and offer exciting career opportunities.
  • Build a strong online presence: A well-optimized LinkedIn profile, active GitHub repo or personal blog can make all the difference.
  • Adapt to the German hiring style: Resumes and cover letters have a specific format in Germany. Tailoring your application properly can significantly improve your response rate.
  • Stay ahead with key tech skills: AI, cybersecurity and cloud computing are in high demand. Certifications from AWS, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure can set you apart.

Meet Yvonne, a scientist turned data scientist

Yvonne holds a PhD in chemistry and was working as a research associate at a university, focusing on complex quantum mechanical calculations. However, the uncertainty of a postdoc career led her to explore new opportunities - particularly in data-driven scientific analysis, which had already been a big part of her work.

That’s when she discovered DataScientest, a programme that allowed her to flexibly, systematically and thoroughly deepen her expertise in key data science skills, all while balancing her job and family life.

One of the most exciting parts of her training? Exploring the complexity of neural networks and working on a team project: "Tree Recognition with Convolutional Neural Networks".

Her efforts paid off, and she recently received a job offer in data science at Dr. Türck Ingenieurbüro! She’s now expanding her skills further, learning Matlab, and preparing to take on her first project in her new role.

Why continuous learning matters

Tech is evolving fast, and staying relevant means upgrading your skills. Employers now seek professionals with expertise in AI, data science and cloud technologies.

Need a career boost?

DataScientest is here to give you the skills you need, in a flexible, fun and hands-on way.
