A new opportunity has arisen with a well-established energy developer headquartered in Munich, entering a major growth phase within the German market.
The company has been developing and delivering energy projects in Germany for over 15 years and recently secured significant backing from a global private equity and infrastructure fund with close to $300bn in assets under management. With strong financial foundations and a long-term strategy, the business is now expanding its utility-scale BESS portfolio across Germany.
To support this growth, the company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the design, technical development, and delivery of large-scale battery energy storage projects, from concept through to commissioning.
The Role
- Lead and support the electrical design of utility-scale BESS projects
- Define technical requirements from early development through construction and commissioning
- Review and manage electrical studies, specifications, and drawings (HV/LV, protection, SCADA, grid connection)
- Act as the technical interface with EPC contractors, OEMs, grid operators, and consultants
- Support procurement, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and technical due diligence
- Ensure compliance with German grid codes, standards, and HSE requirements
The Ideal Profile
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience working on large-scale energy, power, renewables, or BESS projects
- Strong knowledge of HV/MV/LV systems, grid connection, protection schemes, and commissioning
- Experience working with German grid operators and regulatory standards
- Fluent in German and English
- Comfortable working in a growing organisation with a hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset
