About this role

A new opportunity has arisen with a well-established energy developer headquartered in Munich, entering a major growth phase within the German market.

The company has been developing and delivering energy projects in Germany for over 15 years and recently secured significant backing from a global private equity and infrastructure fund with close to $300bn in assets under management. With strong financial foundations and a long-term strategy, the business is now expanding its utility-scale BESS portfolio across Germany.

To support this growth, the company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to play a key role in the design, technical development, and delivery of large-scale battery energy storage projects, from concept through to commissioning.

The Role

  • Lead and support the electrical design of utility-scale BESS projects
  • Define technical requirements from early development through construction and commissioning
  • Review and manage electrical studies, specifications, and drawings (HV/LV, protection, SCADA, grid connection)
  • Act as the technical interface with EPC contractors, OEMs, grid operators, and consultants
  • Support procurement, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and technical due diligence
  • Ensure compliance with German grid codes, standards, and HSE requirements

The Ideal Profile

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Proven experience working on large-scale energy, power, renewables, or BESS projects
  • Strong knowledge of HV/MV/LV systems, grid connection, protection schemes, and commissioning
  • Experience working with German grid operators and regulatory standards
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Comfortable working in a growing organisation with a hands‑on, problem‑solving mindset

Why Join?

  • Join a stable, well‑backed business with a long‑term commitment to the German energy market
  • Be part of a growing BESS platform at an early and influential stage
  • Work on technically challenging, high‑impact energy transition projects
  • Competitive compensation – no fixed salary cap, with flexibility for strong candidates
  • Munich preferred, with location flexibility for the right profile
