About this role

Role: Data is a critical pillar of our product development process, and the Product Analytics team serves as the chief advocate for its quality, consistency, and strategic usage. We are seeking a data‑driven, user‑centric professional to drive the strategy, evaluation, and optimization of our digital products, define how we value user interactions, measure success, and tie product features directly to business outcomes. Responsibilities: - Drive the implementation and evolution of a standardized cross‑organizational product performance measurement framework, establishing consistent core KPIs (e.g., Weekly Active Users, Conversion Rate, Overall Evaluation Criterion) across all business units. - Own the technical architecture and attribution models for user‑value scoring, developing complex data structures to quantify both upper‑funnel engagement actions and lower‑funnel transactional behaviors. - Advance the content flywheel into a measurable insight engine that links content experiences to long‑term financial and business value. - Lead the engineering of advanced data solutions and analytics pipelines, including session‑level tracking, cross‑premise identity stitching, and methods to mitigate the “Winner’s Curse” in product experiments. - Design, align, and analyze rigorous high‑stakes experimentation (A/B tests, quasi‑experiments) to drive sustainable growth across diverse business models. - Democratize insights and act as a strategic advisor to the Senior Leadership Team, Product Managers, and Applied Scientists. Qualifications: - 7+ years of experience in product analytics, preferably within a large‑scale e‑commerce or product‑led environment. - Strong analytical and technical background with high proficiency in SQL and deep experience using Python or R for advanced analytics and building scalable data pipelines. - Expert in A/B testing frameworks, user‑behavior analytics, experiment design, and managing complex attribution or scoring systems. - Deep understanding of funnel performance, mapping upper‑funnel engagement metrics to lower‑funnel transactional performance. - Hands‑on experience applying advanced causal inference methodologies (e.g., Propensity Score Matching, Difference‑in‑Differences, Synthetic Controls). - Proven leadership capability in ambiguous environments, influencing senior executives and driving organizational change. - Excellent storytelling with data, communicating complex technical frameworks into simple, actionable recommendations. - Experience with modern data visualization and analytics tools to scale data‑driven accountability. What We Offer: - 27 days of holiday per year (up to 30 days with tenure) and 2 paid volunteering days. - Employee shares programme and discounts (40% off Zalando fashion/beauty products, 30% off Lounge, external partner discounts). - Relocation assistance (subject to agreement). - Family services, health and wellbeing options, mental health support and coaching. - Development opportunities through a training platform and biannual peer‑to‑peer review.
