About this role

Finance

We help the world run better

At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What you'll build:

Join SAP’s Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) team—an integral part of the CFO organization—where we ensure transparency, accuracy, and innovation in SAP’s financials under IFRS, German, and U.S. law.

You’ll be part of the Corporate Revenue Recognition team, working alongside experts in:

  • External Reporting and Accounting Technology (ERAT)
  • IFRS Policy and Center of Expertise
  • Local Accounting and Reporting

This is your opportunity to help shape how SAP recognizes revenue across cutting‑edge business models in cloud, software, and services.

Expectations and Tasks:

This role is perfect for someone who loves data, thrives on solving complex problems, and enjoys working across teams. You’ll:

  • Research and advise on revenue recognition for new cloud, software, and services models.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Development, Pricing, and Finance to structure deals that meet accounting and reporting requirements.
  • Partner with internal SOX teams and external auditors to manage revenue risks—especially in Commit-to-Consume models.
  • Own and execute specific SOX controls and Non‑IFRS policies.
  • Use system data (ISP, CRM, BW, etc.) to identify and analyze issues that impact revenue recognition and disclosures.
  • Perform analytics to support policy decisions and uncover insights that drive smarter financial reporting.

What you bring:

  • Strong analytical mindset — comfortable with data and eager to turn insights into action.
  • General understanding of IFRS, especially IFRS 15 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers) — or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proactive and self‑driven — able to set priorities and move forward without a detailed roadmap.
  • Passion for continuous learning and understanding end‑to‑end processes.
  • University degree in accounting, auditing, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with revenue recognition in cloud, software, or services is a bonus.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.
  • Intermediate Excel skills; Advanced Excel is a plus (no VBA required).

Work experience:

  • Strong preference for at least 3 years of experience in financial accounting at a publicly listed company or an auditing firm.
  • Prior experience in a financial reporting function is preferred—but if you’re a fast learner with a passion for analytics and finance, we’d love to hear from you.

Where you belong:

This isn’t just a finance role—it’s a chance to be at the heart of SAP’s transformation.

You’ll work with smart, driven people across the globe, tackle real business challenges, and help shape how SAP tells its financial story to the world.

If you’re analytical, curious, and ready to grow—this is your next step.

Bring out your best

SAP innovations help more than four hundred thousand customers worldwide work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively. As a cloud company with two hundred million users and more than one hundred thousand employees worldwide, we are purpose‑driven and future‑focused, with a highly collaborative team ethic and commitment to personal development. Whether connecting global industries, people, or platforms, we help ensure every challenge gets the solution it deserves. At SAP, you can bring out your best.

We win with inclusion
