Are you passionate about leading teams to shape the future of customer service for millions of SIXT customers worldwide? You will lead a dynamic team of software and AI engineers, owning the end-to-end systems powering the Customer Service Experience. Your expertise covers distributed microservice architectures on AWS, enterprise integrations, and AI-agent layers like automated complaint handling and conversational AI.
YOUR ROLE AT SIXT
- You lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, coaching frontend, backend, and AI engineers to foster ownership, collaboration, and excellence.
- You own the technical direction of distributed service architectures on AWS, guiding the team toward scalable, reliable, and observable systems powered by Java and Python.
- You drive AI-powered customer service into production partnering with Data Science to translate prototypes into reliable, safe, and measurable agentic workflows.
- You guarantee seamless end-to-end consistency across the customer journey, integrating Salesforce Service Cloud, telephony, AI agent capabilities, and human escalation paths.
- You align stakeholders across divisions and collaborate with teams in Bangalore, Munich, and Lisbon to ensure smooth and scalable delivery.
YOUR SKILLS MATTER
- Experience: You bring proven experience in software engineering leadership managing complex architectures and production systems on AWS.
- Know-how: You have strong expertise in distributed system design, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native delivery.
- Skills: You are proficient in Java and Python backend engineering and familiar with AI/ML in production, including LLM agents and evaluation pipelines.
- Motivation: You champion operational excellence through SLOs, observability, on-call culture, and incident learning.
- Team Spirit: You collaborate naturally across functions and international teams, aligning engineers, architects, product owners, data scientists, and business stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: You think with a business and product mindset, communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
