The SAP Sovereign Cloud Delivery Germany unit will be providing SAP’s Sovereign Cloud Services in Europe, working on the cloud landscape architecture design, build, maintain and operate, to deliver a stable, secure and resilient cloud services, fully compliant to the local laws, regulations and the unique security, secrecy and digital sovereignty requirements of Germany. The team will be collaborating closely with central Architecture team, Security Office, Engineering teams and with Regulatory and Governance teams.
What you’ll do
We are looking for a DevOps Network Engineer who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of SAP Cloud network infrastructure. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of cloud network infrastructure and the ability to administer and troubleshoot network infrastructure to deliver exceptional support to our customers.
The role includes the following tasks:
- Operate and maintain complex Hyperscaler networks, track significant problems, monitor performance, and perform upgrades as required.
- Provide guidance as a subject matter expert on product design, development, troubleshooting, and documentation applications that run-on all Hyperscalers
- Engage with customers for network connectivity planning and customer incidents.
- Collaborate closely with Infrastructure Development team to implement security framework.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network issues.
- Deploy security patches and security automation framework.
- Participate in complex change preparation and execution.
- Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems.
- Provide on-call support for incidents and performance degradations.
- Flexible schedule which may include weekend or after business hours work
What you bring:
- Strong experience with Hyperscaler networking (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Strong experience with network monitoring & troubleshooting
- Experience working with Linux
- Experience implementing security on AWS with VPC, IAM, Security Grouos etc.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an appropriate field.
- Security-first mindset
- Ability to multitask and handle various projects, deadlines and changing priorities
- Familiar with automation technologies such as Ansible & Terraform for network deployment and management is a plus.
- Knowledge of DevOps tools & technologies such as CI/CD pipelines & Git
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 environment with on-call duties.
- Commitment to maintaining daily office presence for efficient team collaboration.
- Willing to undergo a security clearance process
