Working Student (f/m/d) - AI Innovation & Analytics | Office of the CRO, Finance & Spend Management
About this role
We help the world run better. At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong.
What You’ll Build
Are you the kind of person who reads about the latest AI models and immediately starts thinking about what you could build with them? If you combine deep technical curiosity with a driven ownership mindset — and are ready to create AI tools that real people will depend on to make strategic decisions - this role is built for you.
As the team's dedicated AI working student (f/m/d) in the Office of the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) for Finance & Spend Management MEE, you will not just support existing tools - you will build them. Your work will directly inform how our CRO and senior leadership navigate the market, prioritize resources, and make high-stakes decisions. Accuracy, reliability, and real-world usability are not optional: they are the standard.
- Designing and building an AI-powered forecasting dashboard that consolidates key business metrics and gives the CRO a clear, reliable view of what matters most - and keeping it accurate, current, and dependable
- Identifying, scoping, and delivering new AI use cases for the F&S MEE organization - from intelligent reporting and workflow automation to content generation and process optimization
- Serving as the team's internal Single Point of Contact for AI tools and platforms: troubleshooting issues, onboarding colleagues, and ensuring tools are effectively adopted across the organization
- Integrating data sources, APIs, and AI services into scalable, maintainable solutions that non-technical stakeholders can confidently use and trust
- Taking end-to-end ownership of your projects - from scoping and architecture to delivery, iteration, and documentation - with strategic decisions depending on the quality of your output
- Staying ahead of the curve: continuously monitoring new SAP internal AI tools, models, and approaches and proactively recommending what the team should adopt or experiment with next
- Navigating technical and organizational hurdles with creative, pragmatic solutions that balance speed of innovation with reliability and accuracy
This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role in an organization at the forefront of SAP's own AI and cloud transformation. You will have genuine freedom to explore, build, and make things work — and your results will be seen and depended upon at the senior leadership level.
What You’ll Bring
- A hands-on AI enthusiast with real project experience - you have built things with AI tools (LLMs, Python, APIs, ML libraries) and can demonstrate working outcomes, not just theoretical knowledge - this is what we value most
- A solution-driven ownership mindset: You identify problems, design solutions, and see them through to the end - strategic decisions will depend on the accuracy and reliability of what you deliver
- Strong technical skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL; practical experience with data pipelines, REST APIs, or AI/ML frameworks; ability to build and iterate on tools quickly and independently
- Currently enrolled as a student (f/m/d) at a university or university of applied sciences, with at least 12 months of study remaining
- Preferred fields of study: Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Informatics, or similar
- Hands-on experience with AI tools and platforms such as OpenAI APIs, Azure AI, LangChain, or similar; familiarity with dashboarding or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, Streamlit) is a strong plus
- Strong communication skills - you can explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into working technical solutions
- Fluent English required; German is a plus
Where You Belong
The Finance & Spend Management (F&S) Office of the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is a central strategic unit within SAP's go-to-market organization for the MEE (Middle and Eastern Europe) region. The office drives key initiatives across sales, customer success, and business operations — and is now actively building its AI capability from the ground up. As the team's dedicated AI working student, you will play a foundational role in how this organization uses artificial intelligence going forward. You will not be handed a finished product to maintain — you will define, build, and evolve the AI tools the team relies on. Your work will be visible, valued, and depended upon at the senior leadership level.
Your set of application documents should contain a cover letter, a resume in table form, school leaving certificates, certificate of enrollment, current university transcript of records, copies of any academic degrees already earned, and if available, references from former employers (including internships). Please also describe your experience and skills in foreign languages and leveraging state of the art software.
