About this role

As a Senior Merchandiser at Lounge by Zalando you are responsible for driving the commercial success of your category. You define the strategy and financial KPI plan, contributing directly to the Lounge by Zalando strategy. You have end-to-end accountability for steering your category to reach its commercial goals. You lead the team in the category, for whom you have both disciplinary and functional leadership responsibilities. You constantly challenge direction and priorities based on purpose and business goals. You build strong relationships across the business, building the foundations for the success of your category. You have advanced knowledge of financial planning tools and processes and play an instrumental role in evolving these in Zalando to benefit the future business.

  • Be accountable for a category that contributes significantly to the revenues and strategy of Zalando. Lead your team autonomously to define and deliver the financial KPI plans, adapting accordingly to the changing business climate and company expectations.

  • Work alongside your markets (retail) and buying counterparts to develop the strategy for your business area. Use a collaborative approach with your constantly evolving stakeholder network to ensure cross-functional projects and strategies are delivered.

  • Play a role in shaping the Merchandise Planning function at Lounge by Zalando, setting standards and defining future ways of working. Make a positive impact on the wider community through knowledge and best practice sharing.

  • Drive merchandising projects of your responsibility, collaborating with other departments, contributing directly to the commercial or operational success of the business.

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Business or a comparable field. You have extensive experience working in Merchandise Planning or a commercially facing analytical role (preferably within eCommerce) . You have demonstrated total accountability in leading numerous end-to-end planning cycles, across diverse product areas.

  • You are a solid business leader. You bring motivation, structure and positivity in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, embracing change, always on the hunt for solutions. You exercise high levels of personal accountability and are willing to go the extra mile to achieve results. You are experienced leading and developing junior team members.

  • You are motivated to contribute towards the future of merchandise planning at Lounge by Zalando. You are comfortable with analysis and are confident working on and developing merchandising planning tools - familiarity utilising at least one merchandise planning software is highly beneficial.

  • You are able to manage numerous, diverse stakeholders and use your communication skills to convey complex topics, and influence stakeholders.

  • You have experience developing and implementing new initiatives, processes and/or tools, always looking to drive further improvements for the team and the business unit.
