Junior Applied Scientist (all genders)

Role: Junior Applied Scientist in Zalando Payments, within the Risk Management department, responsible for managing credit and fraud risk for Zalando's payments. Responsibilities: - Participate in the full ML lifecycle: data deep dives, model creation and training, deployment, and monitoring. - Drive innovation and improve models through research, design, and development of new transformer technology. - Make a substantial financial impact on Zalando's business. - Collaborate with different functional areas (operations, internal tool developers) to drive business outcomes. - Balance blocking bad customers without hindering the experience for good ones. Qualifications: - Customer-centric approach and ability to flag continuous improvement initiatives. - Enjoy researching new ML methods to improve model performance. - Interested in collaborating across functional areas. - Find the 'why' in datasets the most interesting part of the job. - Think about how to tackle experiments and put findings into production.
