The Dutch train operator Flywise will launch new GoVolta services between Amsterdam, Berlin, Basel and Copenhagen in the spring of 2025.

GoVolta to launch daily Amsterdam-Berlin train

With self-described aspirations to be the “easyJet of the rails”, Dutch rail company GoVolta has announced that in spring 2025 it will launch several new long-distance train services connecting cities across Europe.

According to international train aficionado The Man in Seat 61, GoVolta will launch daily Amsterdam-Berlin and Amsterdam-Copenhagen services, plus an Amsterdam-Basel service running three times a week. These new services will begin running in May, June and July 2025 respectively.

Aiming to offer 20 routes across Europe, the International Railway Journal reported that GoVolta will launch additional services between Amsterdam and Paris and Amsterdam and Munich in 2026.

GoVolta Amsterdam-Berlin train will cost just 10 euros

Once it hits the tracks, GoVolta’s service between Amsterdam and Berlin will depart from Amsterdam Centraal, stop in Deventer, Hengelo, Bad Bentheim, Osnabrück and Hannover, before terminating at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER).

For the journey, and GoVolta’s other routes, passengers can expect to pay between 10 and 50 euros, the trade-off being that trips will take around two hours longer than existing Deutsche Bahn services.

Characteristic of the “easyJet of the rails”, GoVolta has also announced that its ticketing model will be based on those of budget airlines, meaning passengers will have to pay extra for add-ons, like seat reservations.
