Naughty fox steals over 100 shoes in Berlin

By William Nehra

The residents of a neighbourhood in Berlin have recently been terrorised by a sneaky shoe thief. The prolific burglar, who stole around 100 shoes, turned out to be none other than a mischievous little fox.

Fantastic Mr Fox

The residents of Berlin’s Zehlendorf neighbourhood were left scratching their heads recently after shoes, slippers and sandals kept going missing from outside their homes. The mystery thief managed to evade detection until one day, a local named Christian Meyer caught the thief red-handed.

Meyer spotted the tenacious fox, which had stolen over 100 shoes from the area, making off with his most recent ill-gotten gains: a pair of blue flip-flops. Meyer even managed to take a picture of the burglar as he fled from the crime scene. He then followed the fox and uncovered the fox’s cache of stolen footwear.

While Meyer was unable to recover his own stolen flip-flops, three pairs of shoes have been successfully returned to their owners.
