16 swimming pools across Berlin will stay open late this weekend to celebrate Berliner Bäder Betriebe’s 30th birthday. If you’re looking to take a celebratory dip, here’s what you need to know:

Berlin’s municipal swimming pool body turns 30

Berliner Bäder Betriebe (BBB), Europe’s largest municipal swimming pool operator, is celebrating its 30th birthday on October 30, 2026. Of the 67 swimming pools BBB operates, 16 will be open late to host the celebrations.

BBB pools typically close between 4pm and 10pm. This Friday, some pools participating in the Long Night of Swimming (Lange Nacht des Schwimmens) will be open until 10pm, others until midnight, and a handful more until 2am.

Swimmers pay the regular entrance fee, and at pools where the sauna is also open for Long Night of Swimming, the price includes a sauna visit.

Under the tiered pricing system BBB adopted in 2025, entrance prices vary by pool and how long you want to stay. You can find out more about prices at each pool here.

Which pools are taking part in Lange Nacht des Schwimmens?

The following 16 indoor and outdoor swimming pools are participating in Long Night of Swimming:
