About Geist Heidelberg International Science Festival

Geist Heidelberg International Science Festival is on a par with the internationally renowned New York World Science Festival. Think of it as its European cousin. The German American Science Institute, which runs the event, was founded in 1946. Then, the festival was formed in 2011, to create a yearly occasion for the extraordinary guests to interact with the public. 

World-leading figures such as the highly esteemed intellectual Noam Chomsky, prolific theoretical physicist Lisa Randall and renowned peace activist David Grossman have given talks at previous editions of the festival.
